What is "Project Inspire"?

It is a special event being organised by the FLOGA National EXCO under the leadership of our esteemed National President - Biola Awote (Osomo, 86).

At our last National Reunion in October, 2014, the Principal during her speech mentioned that one of the major problems she was facing was how to get the girls to concentrate on their books and study. Knowing that education is the best legacy, the EXCO began to work out a plan to do something to help. We decided that the girls needed Inspiration!

Langtang has graduated 32 sets of graduands since the first set left in 1983 and all around us we see and hear of FLOGA-ites doing great things. Women who have conquered their fears and dared to reach for their dreams and fulfil them. Women like you. We're located all over the world, armed with the skill sets and strength of character forged and developed with the walls of our Alma Mater. What better way to give back than to return to Langatang and let our younger sisters know that they too can succeed?

And so, Project Inspire was born!

What are the details of this event?

It is a 2-day event that will attract FLOGA-ites from all over Nigeria and diaspora.

Date: 15th and 16th January, 2016

Venue: F.G.G.C Langtang

Highlights:

  • Career Talk/Inspiration Sessions
  • Health & Ettiquette
  • Interactive Sessions with Staff & Students
  • Inauguration of Book Club
  • Presentation of gifts (Library Books and Clinic Supplies)
  • School Tour
  • School Tour and lots more!
Where do you come in?

As a FLOGA-ite, you are automatically a part of Project Inspire. Even though the project is being launched by the National EXCO, they need you to help actualize it.

They will need you to help out with the following:

1 - Pray for the success of the event. Delegates will be traveling from various parts of the country to attend this event. Pray for safety. May God crown our efforts with success.

2 - Spread the news. There are many FLOGA-ites who are not active on Social Media (Facebook, Email, Twitter, Instagram). Be sure to let them know about this event. Point them to our website and share the links, photos and flyers that are posted. Get everyone talking!

3 - Volunteer to attend the event as a delegate. Yes, you too can attend! Discussions are currently ongoing as per modalities for getting delegates to the school, accommodation and transport. If you let us know you are interested in attending, we'll put you in the plans and let you know what you need to do.

4 - Inspire the girls from where you are! So, you won't be able to attend the event in person? Not a problem at all! But if you have words of inspiration for the girls, we have devised a way to get your message accross to them. Simply make a video and send it accross to us. We shall be having a projector show where your video will be aired. Isn't that just fantastic?!

You have worked hard to become the successful woman that you are today. Why not share with the girls some of the secrets of your success? Give them hope. Fuel their dreams. Let them know that they too can make it if they try. Simply put, INSPIRE them!

5 - Give towards the project. To be able to organise a project like this and pull it off successfully, it would cost some money. But not so much of a fortune that we cannot pull it off. We are asking every FLOGA-ite around the world, wherever they are, to make a donation of #2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira Only). This will help get delegates to the school and back, pay for every girl to get a small Health Pack, equip the school library, launch a book club and make a small donation to the school.

To donate, please pay #2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) Only into the following account:

FLOGA LAGOS

DIAMOND BANK

0021362988

ONCE PAYMENT IS MADE, PLEASE CALL/TEXT 08034865490

6 - Tell others about it! I know we said it before but it bears repeating. We want every FLOGA-ite everywhere to know about this event. It has never happened before and we want this event to make a real difference. So once again, Spread the news! Update your FB Profile, post the flyer on your wall, use it as your BBM DP and WhatsApp Profile pic. Let everyone know!

We'll be bringing you further details. So please watch this space!
